General Information About Multiple Entry Visas

In most cases, applicants wishing to enter Japan will apply for a single entry visa, but for some nationalities and under some circumstances, it is possible to apply for a multiple entry visa.

If you wish to apply for a multiple entry visa, then we ask that you read the following information before contacting the embassy to see if you meet the requirements. In the case that it is possible for you to apply for the multiple-entry visa we will instruct you on how to proceed with your application.

Multiple entry visas can be issued to those that travel to Japan for of the following purposes:

1. Business purposes.
2. Intellectual or cultural purposes.
3. Family members of 1 and 2.
4. Tourism (available for some nationalities).

In principle, citizens of the following countries can apply for multiple entry visas:

• China
• Russia
• CIS countries and Georgia
• Philippines
• Other Nationalities
